Play for Gold

SBS Belgium and Play won a coveted Gold Award in the category 'Best new design package of a channel' at the 2021 edition of the the International Eyes & Ears Award Ceremony..

Play is the umbrella identity that unites the Flemish TV channels Play4, Play 5, Play6, Play7, PlaySports and PlaySportsOpen with the content platform The jury praises the successful cross-media look & feel and rewards the branding effort with gold.

This means that SBS Belgium and its design agency Gédéon can once again put a European design award on the mantelpiece, after, among others, the Grand Prix Stratégies Du Design (bronze), the French Ad Club Awards (silver and bronze) and a Red Dot Award.

Elise Matthys (Chief Marketing Officer, SBS Belgium) is very proud of this recognition since it is a new confirmation that the pieces of the puzzle of the SBS Belgium strategy are starting to fit together nicely. It's not just the fancy design, it is also the local, talked-about and entertaining content. The mix of established values such as De Slimste Mens or De Mol and new fiction (Grond) and entertainment means that we can continue to surprise and move the Flemish viewer every day. And the fact that we can do it with clear and appealing branding is the nicest cherry on the cake we could dream of.
